Maintenance Manager - Westfield
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Plant Manager in Westfield, NY, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance functions to effectively manage equipment reliability, as well as manage capital and other projects. In addition, plans and directs the engineering activities to meet operations key performance objectives. A mentor for Team Members in their development to grow their technical and leadership skills. Desired experience to include people leadership, maintenance management, preventative and proactive maintenance system creation and execution, project management, annual budgets, process improvements, manufacturing design, and industrial control systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Experience with bottling, packaging, and grape processing equipment
- Leads and coaches a highly technical team
- Manages the department spending within approved budget
- Provide mechanical, electrical, and process support for the facility
- Develops, mentors, and directs team on performance, SOPs, and technical skills
- Troubleshooting skills with extensive hands-on experience
- Working knowledge of industrial control systems, including instrumentation, data communications, motor controls, and industrial electrical wiring practices
- Leads maintenance planning meetings and works cross-functionally to improve equipment reliability in the cellar, bottling, warehouse, and facilities
- Ensures the highest Safety, GMP, and quality of all work and projects
- Participates in capital planning for the site, with the ability to justify and efficiently execute capital projects within approved budgets and on time
- Develops and improves preventative maintenance for all equipment and processes
- Able to observe, collect, analyze, and summarizing data and trends that aide in the reliability and optimization of equipment and processes
- Effectively balance workload and backlog by assign tasks to team while assuring quality work is being completed in a safe manner
- Culture: Increase Team Member knowledge and skills to identify root cause problem solving and make effective repairs that result in less downtime

QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
- 7+ years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiar with industrial electronics/electrical, ammonia refrigeration, pneumatics, mechanical systems, hydraulics, building construction, blueprints, processing equipment, boilers, PLC's and VFD's
- Department leadership: Must attain respect of all Team members through effective leadership. Possess and demonstrate Preventative and Predictive Maintenance. Management knowledge and have a strong grasp of cost drivers, vendor choices, planning, scheduling. Must develop and execute annual budget
- Experience leading direct reports, as well as influencing peers and others
- Proficient in AutoCAD/SolidWorks, MSOffice, and JD Edwards preferred
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills, an aptitude for working with production equipment, hardware, and software
- Experience in food safety processes and procedures
- Ability to prioritize to best serve the priorities of the facility
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints
- Ability to make effective and persuasive, technical presentations on complex issues to senior leadership
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
- Provide good verbal and written communications to all levels of management, both internally and externally
- Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in team/crew environment, adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedure
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to travel between facilities when required
- Ability to work different shifts when required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work and walk outdoors in cold, hot, and inclement weather
- Primary work activities are within an indoor environment
