The Senior Accountant contributes to the timely completion and analysis of financial results and accounting transactions. Responsibilities also include supporting accounts receivable and tracking the Company’s capital projects and maintaining fixed asset schedules. The position requires strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, using detailed knowledge to fulfill complicated tasks. Additionally, the Senior Accountant provides support and mentorship to team members and assists the Accounting Manager with daily functions. Other accounting related tasks will be required as needed. This role is eligible for virtual work.

  • Assist with the preparation of timely, accurate monthly financial statements
  • Prepare/approve journal entries required to reflect monthly activity
  • Assist with the general ledger month-end close
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior members of the accounting team
  • Complete/review daily treasury transactions including wire transfers, ensuring bank accounts are reconciled and settled daily
  • Prepare/review monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepare audit work papers for the annual financial audit
  • Lead accountant for analysis of capital expenditure project costs and maintenance of the fixed asset ledgers
  • Lead accountant for accounts receivable reconciliations and resolving customer issues
  • Lead accountant for external property tax audits
  • Lead accountant for the preparation of annual property tax returns
  • Administer the company’s leases, analyzing new lease proposals and advising management
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis for management as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferred
  • Experience of mentoring team members preferred
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards/Oracle ERP system
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional integrity
  • Able to execute on multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy

  • Primary work activities are within an office environment
  • Limited travel to production facilities in California to assist with audits and complete annual physical inventory checks
