JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an efficient and effective Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. You will facilitate daily HR functions such as supporting team members, attending operations meetings, and providing administrative support to the HRBP’s.


The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. You will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations are completed timely with minimal error. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar using HR software, general knowledge and application of CA employment and labor laws, general practices of CBA’s, grievance processes, and administrative tools.


You should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results for the HR department and the organization.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responding to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance to the corresponding departments.
  • Redirecting HR related calls or develop correspondence to the appropriate person of the department.
  • Maintaining records of personnel-related data in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met such as note to file investigations and interactive process.


OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for answering questions regarding Collective Bargaining Unit labor relations.
  • Responsible for union grievance communication and correspondence.
  • Assist with developing a safe and supportive work environment with leadership, employees, and union representatives.
  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance, such as EDD requests.
  • Redirect HR related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person of the applicable team.
  • Partner with supervisors/managers to draft documents such as Progressive Discipline and Hardship Analysis.
  • Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, learning and development, etc.) to resolve team member issues.
  • Assist supervisors/managers in performance management procedures.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events etc. and maintain the team’s agenda when responsible.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars when responsible.
  • Assist with orientations and onboarding.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity and projects.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like collection of employee feedback.
  • Support other functions as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years or older at time of hire
  • Proven experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices.
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication.
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality and act with a high degree of discretion.
  • Good organizational, project management and time management skills


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting
