As Category Insights Manager, you will create actionable insights to grow our business profitably with some of our largest retailers. This is an important role in the Center of Excellence driving thought leadership on strategic company initiatives across Grocery, Mass, Liquor and Convenience retailers. Using internal and customer data platforms you will develop stories that support new item presentations and identify areas of opportunity in distribution, merchandising, pricing and promotion. You will uncover opportunities by analyzing market performance and consumer preferences. This position requires a blend of analytics, sales, financial savvy, and strategic vision. At your disposal you will have a suite of rich data sources spanning IRI market data, Consumer Panel data, retailer loyalty card data, 3-tier system depletion data, internal financials and a body of industry research and publications. You will report to the Director of Insights. This role is eligible for virtual work.


  • Develop and deploy reporting for our Retail Customers and internal sales team to plan, track and assess performance in the marketplace
  • Drive actionable insights around pricing, promotion, and distribution of our brands
  • Utilize syndicated sales, consumer, and depletion data, pull data from available resources
  • Create story-telling with data that covers emerging trends and their implications to our business
  • Brand recommendations that will potentially grow the share of a category if distribution expands on a performing item in a selected market
  • Ability to develop selling presentations to support customer appointments in Power Point or MS Office Products based programs
  • Utilize high-level analytical ability and creativity to analyze complex/new situations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively at once
  • Coach marketers on interpreting retailer insights enabling them to permeate insights in key discussions/decisions
  • Partner with Center of Excellence at TWG collaborating on broader facets of delivery of insights to the company leadership, TWG sales teams and Finance team


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related disciplines
  • Experience in Retail and CPG sector analytical discipline
  • Beer/Wine/Spirits industry experience is a plus
  • Strong familiarity with crafting compelling retail selling stories
  • Strong data manipulation skills in Excel, Power-point; additional plus if familiarity with Power BI and SQL
  • Extensive background in understanding ways to pull, process and interpret market scan data including IRI market scans, consumer panel data as well as internal company depletions/shipments to build tools that will identify market opportunities around trends, segment opportunities and growth areas
  • Leverage all market data including Source of Volume, Brand Interaction Analysis, Switching Reports, Consumer Demographics, Basket Cart Analysis, Switching, Point of Entry, Consumer Decision Trees etc. via platforms leveraging Retailer loyalty data
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be flexible to changes
  • Ability to simplify complex situations and focus on value and effectiveness
  • Ability to work and succeed in dynamic entrepreneurial environment
  • Support and model all Company procedures and policies

  • Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed
