Odyssey Managed Logistics Services (MLS) powers supply chain and freight transportation for manufacturing companies by bringing a full suite of operational support, analytics, and strategic management.  We’re looking for a Logistics Services Supervisor to join our team!
 

Summary / Primary Role 

 

The Logistics Services Supervisor (LSS) is responsible for the oversight of an assigned Client Team with respect to all components of MLS service offerings through Odyssey’s proprietary management system(s).  Services include but are not limited to Carrier Selection, Shipment Management, Freight Accruals, Freight Audit and Pay, and NCR Processing. 

 

The LSS ensures proactive management of transactions to manage service relationships effectively and efficiently with Logistics Service Providers (LSP) to meet the requirements of Odyssey’s clients.  LSS is expected to communicate effectively with Logistics Services personnel, Odyssey’s clients and LSPs, and with other Odyssey personnel and functional areas. 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize Odyssey’s propriety management systems to execute shipment management tasks throughout the cycle of the shipment cycle. 
  • Ensure all audit/freight payment tasks for their respective area of responsibility are accounted for on a daily basis.
  • Principle transactional liaison between Odyssey’s clients and LSPs.  
  • Point of contact for Odyssey business units outside the MLS group.  
  • Proactively identify and resolve pick up, delivery or in-route exceptions and minimize impact to external or internal customers.
  • Proactively identify and resolve areas of redundant or inefficient work process and develop best practices for improvement.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective and timely workflow for all transactions. 
  • Communicate any potential service failures to appropriate Odyssey’s personnel and then to client contacts if unable to recover the shipment to retain the original level of service expected. 
  • Participate in training and development of others, including documentation of all tasks to assist in training. 
  • Conduct regular meetings to keep group informed of work-related news. 
  • Maintain the highest level of service standards on all transactions, to include conducting random audits of work completed for accuracy measurement. 
  • Accountable for team’s performance, ensures tasks are completed in accordance with Odyssey’s standards and any applicable contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 
  • Responsible for administrative oversight of day-to-day team operations, including managing time off requests, lunch schedules, break schedules, and employee counseling/discipline.  
  • Travel as needed.  
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays depending upon business demands. 

Qualifications and Key Skills: 

  • College degree preferred or a combination of education and three (3) years of experience in Logistics. 
  • Must have working knowledge of logistics and transportation documents, terminology, and principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
