JOB TITLE:Equipment Operator

REPORTS TO:Frac Manager



The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating hydraulic fracturing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, this person is also responsible for maintaining compliance to Alamo Pressure Pumping’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), and location cleanliness and safety as well as regular equipment maintenance.


The Equipment Operator is tasked with, but not limited to:

  • Operating the fracturing units including Iron Float, Fracturing Pump, Chemical Equipment, Hydration Unit, or Fracturing Blender
  • Adhere to operational, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Participate in rig-up/rig-down duties on-site
  • Accurately complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and compliance paperwork associated with job duties
  • Identify and prevent potential hazards and report information to appropriate personnel
  • Participate in regular on-site and off-site safety meetings and training sessions
  • Maintain all required safety and legislated certifications and courses
  • Suggesting improvements to company policy where necessary to ensure continual safe operations
  • That all Company activities are completed with a focus on quality service and safety
  • Participate in training programs to ensure that Company goals, values, and expectations are being met
  • Participating in safety meetings as needed;
  • Meeting goals and expectations set forth by management;
  • All other duties and responsibilities which from time-to-time may become, or are at any time, necessary for the safe, quality focused operation of the business.

This position requires work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while utilizing designated personal protective equipment (PPE). The candidate must work with an emphasis on safety for themselves and others including coworkers and third parties. They must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines including potential emergency response situations. They must be willing to work a regular 14 day on and 7 day off schedule that will include working day shifts and night shifts which include weekends and holidays.


The Equipment Operator is required to spend significant time in the field doing the day-to-day activities of the frac fleet. This position will work a 14 day on, 7 days off schedule on a regular basis.
