Who you are:

An experienced finance leader, you have a keen eye for detail and extensive knowledge of accounting, tax compliance and regulatory standards in Canada and the US. Used to working in a small team environment, you can educate your team on new standards and liaise with external auditors to ensure financial adherence for quarter- and year-end processes.


What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Organize and execute the quarter and year end close process, including review of key reconciliations, journal entries, lead sheets, consolidations, calculating and journalizing debt servicing transactions, and liaison with external auditors
  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual external financial statements, notes and disclosures, as well as MD&A
  • Assist with the completion of corporate tax returns for both Canada and the US, as well as all communication with the IRS and CRA to ensure compliance
  • Adhere to IFRS standards and lead ICFR design and implementation
  • Assist with the completion US state tax compliance and filings, for both corporate and commodity
  • Lead Insurance program renewals, COI’s, etc.
  • Execute financial requests and obligations to Board members such as Board member compensation, RSU support and other ad hoc requests
  • Execute investor interest payments and requests, employee DSU and LTIP, Black Scholes calculations and other transactions
  • Manage a team of 1-2 financial analyst(s) and relationships with auditors and other external partners

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or Accounting
  • 4-6 years of experience in a finance role, specifically auditing and compliance
  • CPA certification
