Position Summary

Under minimal supervision this position is responsible for all financial reporting, general ledger, and any related analysis.  Prepare detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management.  Monitors actual results of financials data against plan and forecasts.    

Essential Job Functions

  • Monthly Financial Reporting duties:
    • Month end journal entries
    • Monthly Consolidated Financial Reports 
    • Monthly Flash
    • Profit and Loss statements and reports by customer
    • Prepare combined GAAP Financials Reports for the company ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and consistency of all such reports
    • Prepare combined annual statements including all elimination entries.
    • Analyze impact of transactions and compliance with GAAP. 
    • Analyze and review P&Ls by major customer.
    • Compare plan, flash to actual and analyze variances.
  • Knowledge of Cash Management, Borrowing Certificate and Assisting with Year End Budget
    • Communicate directly with banking services to provide checks and balances for daily cash position and support reporting requirements and approval, processing of needed banking documents.
    • Backup for reconciliation of monthly borrowing base banking certificate.
    • Assist in yearend validation year end budge worksheets.
  • Monitor and oversee accruals and incentives
    • Update incentive information and watch year trend for incentive and monthly accruals.
    • Issue incentives for payment Builder/Plumber Rebates Analysis.
  • Monitor and prepare monthly accrual, review program, yearly trend and review payment request and sign off.
    • Analyze and review data information from monthly reports.
    • Review each program to determine if they meet standards to receive payment.
    • Monitor programs that have activity via excel worksheet. 

Other Responsibilities

  • Various Special Projects. Backup to A/P Supervisor.  Audit AP files.  Learning every task of each dept.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
    • Master's degree or CPA is a plus
  • Prior Experience
    • 3 - 5 years of General Ledger/Financial Reporting Experience
    • Strong General Leader and Financial Reporting experience is a plus
    • Experience working with Big Box Distribution is a plus.
  • Hard Skills
    • Proficient in MS Excel including basic formulas and VLookup (Pivot Tables not required but preferred)
    • Knowledge of AS400 is a plus
    • GAAP knowledge is essential to this role
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of Skype/Zoom
