Group Chief Risk Officer Global Remit – London 

 

As a Group Chief Risk Officer Global Remit with Convera, based in our London office, you will be responsible for promoting a sound risk culture across all entities and regions of our organization through ensuring that there is a well-defined risk appetite framework that helps employees take informed decisions as they execute their business plans.

 

This is a high impact and hands on role where you will strategically implement the risk governance programs and work closely with the Convera executive leadership team. You will build and manage a team of Risk Professionals, and through the Risk framework, help employees take informed decisions as they execute on their roles in the company.

 

You will execute on a solid culture of consequence management that ensures breaches of risk limits and large, repeated or unauthorized exceptions effectively result in disciplinary actions. You will act as a liaison officer with regulators, external auditors and partner banks as required, including but not limited to the preparation and submission of required forms with the relevant authorities, ensuring that any responses or forms to the authorities are submitted in a timely manner.

 

You will be responsible for:

 

·       Strategically define, implement and drive the Risk Management Framework for Convera globally, in cooperation with the CRCO and the Executive Team of Convera, 1st and 2nd Line of Defense program owners as well as external stakeholders and the Board of Convera.

·       Lead a team of 13 Risk professionals across multiple time zones and jurisdictions.

·       Advise department and functional heads as they review their internal processes and work environment to identify, understand, analyze, monitor and report risk exposures that may result from inadequate or failed processes or from external events.

·       Manage the risk management models, systems and data, including but not limited to risk registers, operational risk management tools, credit risk management, internal rating models and internal capital and adequacy models, ensuring compliance with (regional/ local) regulatory requirements.

·       Prepare and chair the Global Risk Committee (GRC).

·       Be responsible for the management, outsourcing oversight and further development of the operational risk management framework as well as the continuous training of Convera employees on operational risks and tools and systems in use.

·       Be responsible for the Risk Assessment framework at Convera, including but not limited to Compliance risks (AML/ Financial Crime, Markets Compliance), Information Communication Technology (ICT) risks, Teleworking/ Mobile working risk, Operational Risk

 

You should apply if you have:

  • Deep experience in successfully delivering a Senior Level Global Chief Risk Officer role in a multi-national consumer financial service organisation
  • Experience in a payment service business would be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team across several geographical regions.
  • Substantive knowledge of applicable risk management regulation within the banking/financial services industry, and knowledge of the latest trends, concepts and best practices.

·       Strong experience with modern decisioning systems and AI.

  • Experience managing regulatory exams is a strong plus.
  • Substantive understanding of banking / payment products, services and operations (or equivalent in other financial services organizations). A good understanding of risks associated to Hedging Services will be a strong plus.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of complex problem solving and decision-making ability.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to coordinate global projects with diverse participation.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to analyze root causes of business risk issues.
  • Ability to manage the complexity of the job through strong conceptual and planning skills and the ability to manage in a highly diversified, changing environment that enforces shared responsibilities for global outcome.
  • Strong presentation and organizational savviness skills; comfortable and capable of communicating with all levels of people within and outside the business with a high level of professionalism. The role shall be able to produce senior management and C-suite risk management reports and management information as well as analyze business dashboards
  • Typically, a University Degree, or relevant work experience

 


 

Physical Requirements: This is a full-time role based in London.

 

Workhours: This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours. The candidate will be part of a global team and work with members located in different time-zones.

 

Travel Requirements: This position will require up to 5-10% travel.
