This position will assist with providing analysis for changes to operations to ensure maximizing company ROI while meeting industry metrics.  This includes pricing analysis for new and existing contracts as well as vendor contracts.  This position is expected to have business acumen to add qualitative information of external and internal factors to quantitative analysis.  This position will also assist in the preparation, analysis, and distribution of the financial statement package. Responsibilities include follow-up to inquiries made regarding issued financial statements, as well as special projects assigned by management.  Attention to detail and accuracy of analysis are a must!


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Analyzes financial information for the organization or one of Alta's Clients.

Develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations.

Analyzes financial information detailing assets and liabilities and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position.

Serve as liaison to leadership, assisting them with forecasting and P & L  related service issues. 

Complete all cycles of the forecasting process. Assist in the month-end closing and distribution of monthly financial statements. 

Perform detailed financial statement analyses, including discussions on various issues. 

Determine pricing for new and existing business; work with competitive pricing models and develop business proposals that take into account current environment and future changes based on contract length and industry dynamics

Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.

Perform financial forecasting, reconciliation of internal accounts and be able to compare to expectations based on the industry/business.

Investigate errors and complaints. Adjust journal entries as necessary.

Review monthly invoicing to ensure compliance with contract 

Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.

Ensure that processes at all times have appropriate internal controls

Assist with internal and external audits (i.e. financial, benefit plans, workers compensation, bank audits, client audits, etc.)

Work with regulatory institutions and/or government agencies.

Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. 

Regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability are conditions of employment and essential function of this position.


LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES 

Although this position will not have responsibility for direct reports, the position requires active leadership in daily interactions with the program directors.  The financial analysts provides the tools, insight and understanding of billing mechanisms to help manage the forecast, financials and billing in conjunction with the program director.  This position also requires active leadership in the way of supporting strategic initiatives as well as active personal development and application of Six Sigma methodologies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance plus a minimum of 2 years of public accounting, audit/or related corporate experience required. 


TECHNOLOGY SKILL BASE 

This position requires a working knowledge of computer technology that includes: Windows, PowerPoint, Advanced Word,  Excel, and accounting software preferably Great Plains and Management Reporter. Individuals must possess the ability to learn and understand new software and other technology applications as introduced by the Client and Alta Resources.


LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for up to eight hours, and stand. Manual dexterity which allows the individual to use hands to type on a keyboard, use a mouse and write are required, as is the ability to talk, and hear.   The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
